Google’s technological innovation: Deep Research
Key developments of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are ongoing at the American technology giant, Google. Recently, the company introduced Deep Research as its new product. The latter is designed to help write non-trivial, but concise and easily understandable reports on specific topics, to transform the process – a veritable revolution for researchers and knowledge lovers.
An innovative approach to AI
Thus, Deep Research may seem to be a completely ordinary AI Whatsapp chatbot at first sight. However, it distinguishes itself from the rest of the search engines in its capacity to deliver a multiple step research plan prior to a question itself. An example of this feature was done by Aarush Selvan, a senior product manager on Google’s Gemini team, when demonstrating the tool at Engadget.
For instance, if you ask Gemini to offer you some insights about heat pumps, they will know to focus on the grants issue, or not mention it at all. Once you approve it, Gemini will then go search the open web for any data which may be related to the query you wish to make.
A precise and detailed tool
Contrary to many other research companies, Deep Research doesn’t simply offer solutions. It generates authentic detailed reports, often with the added touch of graphs and always with source citations with a link to the sources used. “These reports appear to hold a higher degree of accuracy than some of the less helpful and colourful AI digest released by Google,” Selvan said.
Where can I find Deep Research?
Deep Research is not available or offered without cost. In order to access Gemini Advanced one needs to pay for Google’s One AI Premium Plan subscription. This offer is $20 a month, there being a one-month free trial. At the current time, Deep Research has only been created in the English language.
