Disney combining with the NBA for Christmas in what promises to be unprecedented event.
As the sport and Disney fans wait to celebrate the Christmas season, ESPN has a big gift for both the NBA and Disney lovers. The particular game will be Spurs against the Knicks on, the Christmas Day.
A match like no other
This match to be played at 12:00 p.m. eastern time will not be just a sports broadcast as is the case with many games. This match will happen at Madison Square Garden which looks like Main Street USA of Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom due to Beyond Sports technology of Sony. Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald for instance will be present and so will be Santa and his helpers as seen in the film Disney Prep & Landing.
A new trend in sports broadcasting: Network Webcasting
This spectacle is part of a new wave of events that combine live sport games with the mascots of a TV channel. This is evidenced by the pre-simultaneous coverage of the Bengals-Cowboys match on December 9 as ESPN+ Disney + and the NFL+ app all of which will feature character and scene from the Simpsons.
Second Spectrum technology employed in ESPN3’s Full Court Press broadcasts overlays information graphics on player trajectories and updates them in real time. This match can be expected not only as an extremely interesting, exciting one but as a new kind of show.
