“Vacation Mode” on Google Home: learn about some of the features to be found
A step closer to the life of a Smart Home with the help of “Vacation Mode”.
The Google Home platform, offering a range of smart home devices, is about to integrate a new feature into its application: ”Time off”. The latter observed by Android Authority can make your home seem occupied while you are away by randomly switching on your smart appliances.
Risk recreation for even more safety
The security of your home is always of great concern especially when you are away from your home for long periods of time. The constant interruptions from the notifications posed a big challenge, which has been solved by Google Home with the help of providing a solution, in the form of “Vacation Mode”. Indeed, the app can tell that you are gone simply based on the location of your phone and the smart home devices with the Internet of Things sensors. This in turn leads to a set or chain of events that have been programmed to precede it for instance adjusting the heater or switching off the light.
But “Vacation Mode” goes further: during your long trips it is possible to program your devices to go off at any time of the day. This may refer to operation of smart shutters, either opening or closing them, control of smart speakers either to play music, or control of smart lights.
It is considered a feature which is still in the developmental stage.
As big as this may sound, the “Vacation Mode” feature of Google Home is still incomplete. Currently the users who attempt to access it are likely to encounter some errors. Moreover, for the moment, no hint of this option is to be found in the “Household Routines” part of “Automation” submenu.
However, this is actually the feature that could give Google Home a new lease on life and make it much more appealing to customers in the sphere of smart home technologies.
