Microsoft removes ads from Skype

by Andrew

This update also entails a revision of the concept and practice of artificial intelligence made images.

Yesterday it was reported that Skype is to revolutionize the way that it presents information on its services and products practically ditching the traditional advertisement.
Given such a background of saturated advertisement space, it became possible for Microsoft to choose a major change, the outcome of which Skype will be devoid of any form of advertisement. This final strategic act answers to a increasing intention to provide a purer and less troublesome client side environment, as the Redmond firm stated recently on its blog.

Improved user experience
However, as for the today section on Skype, it is clear that it will not be affected by the elimination of the ads; the same can be said about the News Feed that appeared on Skype beforehand. This flow of information will be accompanied by nothing but the absence of advertisements. Furthermore, for those who would want a cleaner interface, then they can opt to disable the News Feed found on the system’s setting.

Skype boosts its features
Indeed, one of the prominent changes included in this update is the enhancement of the image creation function. Skype now has a redeveloped image-making interface so that it becomes more user friendly for the new generation and the appearance looks more professional. This image maker will be easily available to the users from the chatting interface of the app or through the slab present at the top of the interface.

Improved security on iOS
However, with this new update, the consumers of iOS devices can utilize OneAuth, an authentication application. This replaces early sign-in services and comes with the pre-sign in features to facilitate those already logged in, for instance, the teams. A useful improvement that saves our memory already overloaded with passwords that need to be recalled.

Important note: This update is for all members of the program Skype Insider and is a version of the application for testing. The rollout has started but it can take up to several days to reach all the users of this application. The users are therefore advised to check the status of the update often since Microsoft supports this move.

The recent attempt made by Microsoft of going ad-free in Skype is a rather daring one in the world of technology. As for this new changes, I must say that I do not know how users will behave concerning these changes.
