Samsung launches One UI 7 beta
After a feverish wait, Samsung owners can finally test One UI 7, the next version of the phone manufacturer’s software interface, which will also bring Android 15 to Galaxy devices. Despite some delays, a beta is now available, which means that a launch date for One UI 7 on more Samsung phones is finally in sight.
One UI 7: New Features and Improvements
One UI 7 introduces a lot of changes to Samsung’s best phones, with a special focus on Galaxy’s AI features and improved security. Even with the beta release, we continue to find out what’s part of One UI 7 and what might come later.
Here’s what to expect after you upgrade:
New home screen: Samsung has simplified the look of One UI’s home screen. This includes redesigned icons, which now sport darker colors and gradient backgrounds.
Now Bar: New to One UI 7, the lock screen Now Bar is going to remind a lot of people of Apple’s Dynamic Island feature.
Writing Tools: One UI 7 adds to this with new writing assistance tools that are more integrated into the operating system.
Call transcripts: If you record calls using the Phone app on your Galaxy device, you’ll now be able to get an automatic transcription.
Camera app redesign: If you’re a photo professional, you’ll want to install One UI 7 as soon as you get your hands on either the beta or the full version.
When can we expect the full version of One UI 7?
For now, only the Galaxy S24 model can run the beta, although we imagine that the final version will also roll out to older devices and Galaxy A models. As for the full version, everything indicates that Samsung will launch One UI 7 with the Galaxy S25 flagships. These phones aren’t expected until the new year – rumors point to a January launch for the Galaxy S25, giving you an idea of when you can expect to get the update if you currently own a Samsung phone.
