8BitDo comes out of nowhere to debut with smartphones.
What’s more impressive is that one of the best third-party gamepad makers the 8BitDo brand is entering the smartphone market. It has only recently unveiled its first mobile controller otherwise known as the ‘Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller’.
An accompanying controller for operation of smartphones and small tablets
The controller has a hooking mechanism for holding smartphones and small Android tablets, with a size of 3.9 – 6.6 inches. However, unlike the Backbone One and the Asus ROG Tessen, that provide USB-C connection with the device, the Ultimate mobile gaming controller uses Bluetooth connection. But it is only compatible with Android devices for the moment.
Impressive battery life
Thanks to Bluetooth connection the controller has a 350 mAh, rechargeable battery Thunder friend 8BitDo guarantees a battery life to be fifteen hours with only a ninety minutes charge. However, battery also increases the over weighted portion on the controller. By the way, Backbone One has a weight of 138 grams, whereas 8BitDo’s has a weight of 236 grams.
This controller presents itself with fully customizable design.
The ultimate feature in the Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller is that it can be fully customized due to 8BitDo’s Ultimate software for both mobile and desktop. The controller is out on pre-sale at $49.99 and is set for the launch on the 29th of November. That’s much cheaper compared to some of the best mobile gamepads that were featured in our test last year.
